Good morning, girls and boys! How are you today? Tell me, please, do you like the weather?
Are you ready for the lesson?
So, before start our lesson, guess my puzzle, please! You will watch the video and guess the name of the holiday.

The topic of our lesson is "Before Christmas" and we will speak about this holiday, we will learn new words, we will revise other holidays, we will read, sing, write and have a lot of fun!

Let’s start and have a little phonetic exercise. Repeat after me!

Now, let’s stick to business. Let’s start speaking about what people do before Christmas. And first of all, I want you to open the books at page 115.
Let’s read and translate new words. Well done! Once again, please! Great!

Let’s practice these words a little bit. Look at the picture and tell what you can see in our classroom. (Christmas tree, lights, tinsel, ornament,a fireplace, stockings, snowlakes)
Our Christmas tree is without toys! I suggest you decorate our Christmas tree with toys during the lesson.

Every toy has a task. We will do tasks and put toys on the Christmas tree. Are you ready?
The first toy is angel. We will revise holidays. You will guess the riddles! Listen! Be very attentive!

1. On this holiday people paint eggs in bright colours and give them to each other as a present. In Britain they often hide these eggs or chocolate eggs for little children to find. (Easter)
2. On this day people celebrate romantic love. They give presents to the people they love – flowers, often red roses, or heart-shaped3 chocolates and cakes. In the evening they decorate their houses with heart-shaped balloons, light candles and have dinner. On this day people send a lot of cards to the people they love: to their friends, mothers, brothers and sisters, parents and teachers. They wish them happiness and love. (Valentine’s Day)
3. It is a day of fun and jokes. On this day people play jokes on their friends and relatives. (April Fool’s Day)
4. People usually celebrate this holiday on the 25th of December in Britain and on the 7th of January in Belarus. They decorate their houses, cook tasty food and gather together to celebrate it. (Christmas)
5. On this day people usually watch parade, in the evening people usually watch fireworks. (Victory Day, Independence Day)

People usually celebrate Christmas on the 25th of December.
They decorate a Christmas tree.
They hang ornaments, tinsel and lights on the tree.
They put an angel on the top of the tree.

They send Christmas cards.
They pull crackers at Christmas.
They sing Christmas carols.

They hang Christmas stockings by the fireplace.
Santa Claus puts presents into Christmas stockings.
Great work! Let’s turn on the lights!

The fifth toy is a snowflake. You have to find a pair to each snowflake. Come to the blackboard and place two snowflakes together.
Now let’s write a letter to your best friend.
