Цель: развитие и закрепление у учащихся умений в устной речи по теме "Past Simple".

Задачи:

• употреблять в устной речи лексические единицы и речевые структуры по теме урока;
• уметь извлекать из текста необходимую информацию;
• обогащать словарный запас и грамматический строй языка учащихся.

Оборудование: учебник Spotlight 6 класс, раздаточный материал, презентация.

Ход урока

Мотивация к учебной деятельности

Приветствие учащихся с использованием устойчивых речевых клише.

Hello! How are you going?
How was your weekend?

What was the weather like?
Did you do anything interesting at the weekend?

Актуализация знаний

Look at the board. There is a small text. You should complete these sentences use am, is are:

Today is my birthday
I am nine
There are a lot of guests

Что же произойдет, если мы скажем эти же предложения в прошедшем времени?

Создание проблемной ситуации

What happens if we say the same sentences in the past tense?
Когда мы говорим о том, что было в прошлом b используем глагол to be, нужно обратиться к его второй форме – was\were, еще мы используем окончание ed, но если глагол неправильный – его 2 форму.

Что теперь у нас получится?
Yesterday was my birthday
I was nine
There were a lot of guests

What time do we use when we want to talk about events in the past?
The topic of our lesson is Past Simple. The aim of our lesson is using the verb to be into the Past Simple.

What parts will our map be made up of?

First, let's turn to the use of tense. To do this, open the textbook on page 66 and read the text. Let's find some past tense verbs!
What does the text describe using verbs? (past life, what people used to do)

Let's draw the first part of our map! We use the past tense when:

• a finished action in the past;
• one action after another;
• past habits.

Now let's describe on our map the forms of past tense use:
Positive: subject + regular verb+ED
subject + irregular verb 2nd form

When we make a positive sentence we use the verb with the ending ED, but if the verb is irregular we use the second form.
Negative: subject + DIDN’T + verb

When we make a negative sentence we use the verb DO in the second form DID plus NOT and the verb
Interrogative: question word + subject + verb

When we make a question sentence we use a question word, a subject and a verb.

Now let's open to page 69 of the textbook and do page 4 of the assignment.
You need to categorize the verbs into regular and irregular and insert the missing words.
